My Memory: We decided to stay at the Surfsand Resort after staying at another place close by and saw that they really cared about family. We love the Oregon Coast and for me it is about making memories that you will treasure for years. Coming this year was different, as we were no longer the married couple without kids. We brought our two year old and our memories completely changed. I have to say looking at the ocean through the eyes of a child is completely different then I imagined. First we painted sand dollars at the craft time offered at hotel. We watched as our daughter happily got blue paint on her legs and arms later... she played with the sand bucket that we got from the front desk bringing such new joy, as she carefully put the sand into the bucket with laughter and excitement. There were also the red wind shields that she used to play peek-a-boo...and she climbed the white chairs with her Dad, as she looked into at the waves with amazement. We ordered yummy toasted cheese sandwiches from the Wayfarer to eat on the beach… laughing as we ate as a family... we joined in on the bonfire that night that the resort offers and took in the day wondering how we got so lucky... thanks for the memories.
