My Memory: Five years ago for our 25th. anniversary, we being "land locked" in Colorado, decided that to celebrate we would head to the Oregon coast and see the ocean. Cannon Beach was the perfect place for us to see the ocean for the first time. At the time we didn't know that not all beaches are as pristine and beautiful as Cannon Beach. We hadn't made reservations, but decided to stop in at the Surfsand and see if a room was available. The room was gorgeous but the rates were a bit over our budget. The manager was so accommodating and nice, he gave us the off season rate even though officially we were a week early. It was the most wonderful place we stayed on our trip. Watching the sunset over the ocean from the beach of the Surfsand Resort made our 25th perfect. So much so that we are planning a trip back for our 30th anniversary this fall. I don't remember the manager's name, but thank you.

My Memory: I came to the Surfsand on August 4 of 2009 to get away from the noise and uncomfortableness of the big city. My nerves were shot and when I reached the Surfsand and the beach I wanted to cry. I've never seen anything more beautiful than the Surfsand and Cannon Beach. The rooms were gorgeous, breathtaking and very, very clean. I thought I died and had gone to Heaven. It is so peaceful, quiet and wonderful at the Surfsand and most importantly I would like to thank the staff of the Surfsand, everyone there is wonderful and I am forever thankful and grateful to everyone there who made me feel at home. I will love the Surfsand and the people there and I will cherish my memories and hope one day to return. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My Memory: Just last weekend my husband and I stayed at the Surfsand Resort and fell in love with the place! We had planned on staying one night but after ice cream on the veranda, warm cookies and milk, popcorn in the lobby, the swim in the pool and bonfire on the beach calling to us we indulged in one more night. We were so impressed with the staff and their hospitality. It was a perfect weekend! Thank you Surfsand!

My Memory: My husband and I visited the Surfsand last fall, and had such an amazing time. We have 4 children and rarely have time away together and the Surfsand provided a relaxing escape, beautiful setting, and memories to last a lifetime.

My husband and I enjoyed the Surfsand so much we were able to recommend it without reservations to host the 2009 ladies retreat for the church we attend. Our retreat was in March of 2009 and each lady who attended was overwhelmed by the luxurious rooms, beautiful accommodations, amazing food, and superior service. One lady who attended was only able to stay one night. She had been battling cancer for a long, but she wanted to have one more getaway with all her girlfriends. Her husband came to get her and before she left we were all able to tell her how loved she was, and how happy we all were that she was able to come even if her stay was short. This precious woman lost her battle with cancer a few short months after our retreat, but we are all blessed by the memories that we have of that weekend with the girls.

We enjoyed our visit so much last year, our spring 2010 ladies retreat will once again be held at the Surfsand. Thank you all so much for welcoming us, and serving us with gladness. You are a treasure!

My Memory: I love, love, love staying at Surfsand. It is my "go to" place for creating memories. Surfsand has the #1 customer service of any place I have ever stayed. It is hands-down the most family and pet-friendly resort I haveever experienced down to the last detail (Sunday weenie roasts, campfires, cabana service, pet beds and goodies)and the beautiful location and friendly staff has had my family coming back again and again for almost a decade now.With the newly updated rooms, I really feel pampered and the cleaning staff is so thorough I always feel comfortable.Again and again your staff has bent over backwards to make my family's experience pleasant. Thanks, Sufsand. Looking forward to our next stay.

My Memory: "My husband’s granny worked at the Surfsand as a maid back in 1978-1980 right after her husband passed away. She is 89 years young and still remembers that time with fond memories. She was just telling the story of that time a couple of weeks ago and how she still has the nice letter that Mr. Martin wrote as a letter of recommendation for her. My husband and I go on our anniversary in October; so we will have our own memories to tell our grandchildren. "

My Memory: "Our family absolutely loves this place. We come here every year for our Anniversary. Every visit has been outstanding... with two small children joining us activities for the kids are essential. Surfsand has always filled that with beach activities and crafts. Every stay has always been perfect you truly know how to pamper your guests from the Swedish massages for the adults to the ice cream socials and hot dog roasts on the beach for the little ones. You make us feel like every wish is catered to. Every year are family anticipates our stay here. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories. Looking forward to this year with you. Our children have named your resort "the fancy place." See you soon the Delao family!"

My Memory: "My wife and I love your property! Our recent stay this past March, proved quite interesting with all the stormy weather. Outside that small thing, your staff, your warm cookies upon arrival and the awesome massage made for a memorable stay. My Memory:"Dead of winter, December 27 1969, new wife and I came down from Edmonton-Victoria BC, intending to stay one night in Cannon Beach before continuing down to San Francisco on our honeymoon. Your motel was a Best Western at that time, and we took an ocean front room with fireplace. What a happy stay. We were so enchanted by Cannon Beach in general, and the coziness of our room, that we stayed two more days. Specific memories include me being invited to play pool in the local tavern, and "clearing the table" on the first challenge. It was just "for beer", so we all laughed. Then breakfast one morning in a log cabin lowslung on Main Street, with clam fritters to die for. Another memorable meal at the Crab Shack(?) up on the highway. Forty years ago, and the memories are still resonating."

My Memory: "This past April, my husband and I took our four daughters, granddaughter, son-in-law and the dog on a family vacation. I am a nurse and I not only worked really hard physically, but I also worked really hard at planning this wonderful vacation for all of us. We stayed in Seattle for three nights, Mt. Hood three nights and then drove out to the coast and stayed at the most awesome resort ever! We live in Florida, but nothing compares to your home. The close view of Haystack Rock from our balcony was magnificent! The rooms were cozy. Beautiful bathroom with TV and the bed was dreamful. The staff at your resort were very friendly, professional and well dressed. The only disappointment I experienced was not staying more than the one night I had planned on. There will definitely be another trip in the near future!"

My Memory: "We love to visit the Surfsand Resort. It has the perfect location and the best part is that it is very pet friendly so we can bring our dog Maverick with us. My Memory: "Ever since my daughter and I moved from California to Portland 8 years ago the Surfsand Resort has been our favorite place to get away for a a weekend at the coast. A few years back, before the remodel, we brought my grandmother along and she fell in love with it too. This year she turns 88 and her one big wish (other than going on an African Safari) was to return to Surfsand. So we made a special trip while she was visiting in March. She had a blast. We had a bonfire on the beach and made a new friend "Frank" the seagull. This fall my daughter leaves for college in NYC and the one thing she wants to do is make a last summer trip back to the Surfsand. So we'll see you soon! Watch out Frank... here we come! "
