My Memory: Last Christmas we purchased 3 gift cards for our three daughters. Our first daughter used her gift in May, I believe. She was thrilled with the facility and service. In fact due to bad weather she was given an extra night free as she intended to camp out on her way home. My second daughter is there now. Erin has called me twice and has described your service and facilities as "Totally Awesome.” The extras like staff checking with guests on the beach, the dog beds, her room (the least expensive) that has a view of the beach and the beach have thrilled her. My third daughter is in graduate school at WSU and could not make it to the beach this year. Your gift cards (unlike some others) allow her to use it next year. No doubt she will come away "wowed" like my other kids. Thank you for making a gift to our children so special. I will recommend you to my friends, family and coworkers.

My Memory: My boss gave my husband and me a weekend at the Surfsand as a 5 year employment bonus in 2005, and we brought our dog with us. The 3 of us have been back every year since. We love running on the beach in the mornings AND evenings; sitting on the balcony at any time, just listening to the ocean; and Kya enjoys all the attention from staff and guests alike. The staff is extremely friendly, polite, and courteous, the rooms are clean and neat, and The Wayfarer Restaurant is amazing. We are so looking forward to this year's trip over the Labor Day weekend. We can't wait!

My Memory: Exceeded Our Expectations!
What a wonderful time we had at Surfsand Resort, August 2009. My husband, son & I opened a package full of surprise when we stepped through the door this past week into our studio style room. Total relaxation, romance & tranquility hit me like the ocean breeze of Cannon Beach.
What a wonderful stay we had for those 4 days. They have so many activities, even for our teenage son. Who enjoyed skim boarding, kite flying & swimming in the pool to pass his time away. The bath tub opening into the ocean view was amazing! Loved the coffee and the coffee pot in the room.
The staff throughout our stay treated us like a guest and not an imposition.
We will return again, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

My Memory: We are returning to the Surfsand Resort next month for the 3rd time and plan to keep coming back every year. This has been the perfect place to get away from the Phoenix heat. The rooms, staff, and everything else about the resort is perfect. Where else can we sleep looking at the ocean and hearing the waves? Two memories stick out in my mind, up early, foggy out, sitting on the balcony and horses are running on the beach. Beautiful! The other, sitting and just relaxing with my husband having appetizers and drinks, just enjoying the view and the company. Surfsand is the best!

My Memory: Simply put, "laid back relaxation at its finest!" Having only spent one night at the Surfsand, in June 2009 we were entranced by the views, people and accommodations. Not to mention the beauty and learning laboratory that Haystack Rock provided my husband and I as well as your five year old daughter. Cannon Beach has been the topic of many conversations in the past few months and we cannot wait for a return visit to explore Cannon Beach thoroughly. Our daughter is anxious to visit the ocean and all the natural wonders it has to offer. I look forward to the lazy, unscheduled days taking in antique shops and being mesmerized by the constant ebb and flow of the ocean from our deck. We live in one of nature's "wonderlands" near Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Part but seldom get to experience their wonders or kick back, relax and take in the beauty - running a business and day to day life have a way of squelching good intentions. A return visit to Surfsand will enable us to unwind and forget the duties that drive us back at home.

My Memory: After hours of online hotel / inn / house rental research for our summer trip to Cannon Beach, I selected a small quaint inn to stay at for 4 nights, 5 days. Once we arrived at the inn with our pup and started moving all our luggage in, we realized the place smelled like the last 5 dogs that stayed there and the carpet was badly stained. Pet-friendly yes, human-friendly, not so much. I called the manager who was just the nicest person who apologized and agreed to let us check out with a full refund.
Now, ALL we needed to do was find another pet-friendly place available during possibly the busiest time of the year. I called just about EVERYWHERE and all were booked. Then... I remembered I had packed my AAA book and checked there for hotels. Surfsand Resort received high ratings from AAA so I called. The young gentleman that answered the phone was so pleasant and rattled off all the amenities and yes, they had availability but only for 2 nights. I hung up the phone and told my partner, THIS IS THE PLACE WE ARE STAYING even if for only two nights! We'll figure out what to do after that.
We were blown away at how nice the resort was AND pet-friendly to boot! It made our trip a million times better than if we stayed at the place we originally booked. On the morning that we were suppose to check out, we were SO very bummed that we couldn't stay longer because our room was reserved for another party. Then we received a message that we could stay one more night if we would like to. I don't know how management made this happen but we were like kids on Christmas morning. Jumping around and screaming that we got to stay another night! We will stay nowhere else but Surfsand Resort while in Cannon Beach! The location, the beautiful rooms, extremely yummy room service, but most of all, the fantastic customer service. Thank you for a very memorable summer trip!

My Memory: We went on our first family vacation ever to Surfsand Resort in June of 2009. It was a very stormy, cold day at the beach; so cold, in fact, that we played in the minivan in the parking lot, facing the ocean, while waiting to check in!
Once we got to Surfsand, however and settled in to our beautiful room, the sun peeked its head around the corner of the dark clouds, and we took our free buckets and ran (well, 10 month old Elliott was pulled in the wagon!) to the beach. 3 year old Emilie and Daddy played in the water, and Elliott and Mama hung out in the sand. Elliott loved the feel of the sand in his hands; for once, he did not put a new fun thing in his mouth.
Our favorite parts? For Elliott, digging in the sand; for me, the cabana service; for Jerry, building sandcastles with his babies; and for Emilie, the free shower cap!
We loved our stay and will return again and again.

My Memory: "Me and my family come to the Surfsand Resort every single summer. We absolutely love your hotel, and all it has to offer.
My grandparents, my brother and myself have been coming for the past 8 or 9 years and it never gets old. Some of our fantastic memories include late night bonfires and s'mores out on the beach, the delicious food at the Wayfarer Restaurant, walking up to the Haystack Rock to explore tide pools, and of course spending days at the Surfsand Resort.
Your hotel has become like a second home for us and we hope to see you next summer as well. This hotel has brought another fun tradition to our family and all the memories we have are priceless.

My Memory: My wife, our daughter and myself were all born in Oregon. After spending six years in Idaho in the '60's, we returned to live in Portland in '67 when our daughter was 8 years old. We spent that 1st Xmas and the following Xmas at the Surfsand. We always took one of the 1 BR apts with the kitchens, because there were no restaurants on property in those days. Many fond memories were: the Managers gave us a bottle of Champagne both years as we were the only tenants other than themselves on that special holiday, because Cannon Beach was still a pretty good secret back then. It was always nice to find a fresh supply of firewood outside our door each morning, it was great to have a fire going when returning from a walk on the beach during that time of the year; and sitting by the patio window in front of the fireplace and watching TV throughout the day. How can there be a better way to live than spending a few days at Surfsand!
P.S. My daughter spent her honeymoon there 12 years later.
